| To keep it strong and very short: The exposure is good. The first act is good and promising. The second act manages to make the plot more interesting, but the first plot holes begin to show. The third act is incredibly disappointing, with an end that make you mourn aloud to the god of screenwriters. One or two comprehensive reviews script would have helped much here, but apparently did not. So what begins as a thriller ends up as a piece of very predictable boredom, even the good performances and some guests (prude enough Yanks sorry but here in Europe are different in that respect) nudity does not help to take off . |
| This movie: Deception is supposed to be a thriller, but unfortunately is very short of the "thrill". My biggest complaint is the pace of the DVD movie Deception - is very slow and sometimes very boring. There are too many holes and implausabilities lot, but even if they suspend their disbelief and accept the story that said, it is still not a very good movie. The script is not only very good. This is not the worst film: Deception in history, however, if you are looking for a good thriller, I would not recommend this film: Deception as one. It is really a pity, because Hugh needs another good Deception Drama to boost his career. His recent criticisms have not been blockbusters (except the X-Men franchise), and I am beginning to seriously doubt his ability to pick good scripts. Hopefully that "Australia" will become, unfortunately, its not so good run around. |
| Jonathan McQuarry is an accountant who strikes a friendship with a lawyer named Wyatt Bose. After exchanging phone accidentally McQuarry begins receiving calls from women who are part of a group of people who meet only for casual sexual encounters. During one of these, McQuarry meets a blond woman who becomes near. When the attack and she disappears, it becomes apparent that she spends more .... From the above description of the plot that some people can understand the story is heading. For my part, I did. It is a sad fact that the script written by Mark Bomback is no surprise at all. It also does not help that there are holes in the plot are not explained or addressed. The direction of Marcel Langenegg is fine, but not add any tension in the film. What does save the film: Deception are the three main actions. Michelle Williams is suitably enigmatic as the girl, for instance, Hugh Jackman as Wyatt Bose adds to the charm and charisma, and Ewan McGregor as Jonathan McQuarry convincing as the rectum, only accountant seduced into the events played out. However actions alone can not save the Deception Drama film to be disappointing, predictable thriller. |
