| I like this movie. I must admit that a part of me is expecting the typical girl Flic ending, but if I get that I'm really not sure I liked the movie: Proof of Life as much. The Proof of Life movie was more credible than I've come to expect from action movies, with the possible exception of the bravado of the captives husband. I find it hard to believe that someone in that situation would be as antagonistic to their captors constantly. Sure, you could have a moment or two, where it had had enough and had to turn back, but I find it hard to believe you to be that way all the time. But the negotiations were mostly credible, and the growing attraction between the drivers has been very good. |
| This is an action movie. I do not believe the hype about him trying to be too complex love story. It is much more subtle than that, and not far from the lavish cinematography and solid acting that elevates what could have been a script on a floor. This film: Proof of Life definitely has great appeal, but should not be so easily. Although it reminds me of the business, (action sequence in the beginning, in the final action sequence, the negotiation in the middle, interlaced with some action) that still manages to stand apart from your typical action show. Meg Ryan is able to pitch themselves and really focus. Russell Crowe is a classic alpha male, intense Russell Crowe. I hope that David Morse eventually be recognized as more than just another character. And it's good to see David Caruso back as the wise-cracking friend CR. Yes, this is worth going to see. |
| Terry Thorne (played by Russell Crowe, Gladiator) is an ex-SAS soldier who now earns his living as a hostage negotiator in the dangerous world of kidnapping and rescue of insurance. Peter (David Morse-12 monkeys) and Alice Bowman (Meg Ryan) have been living in political instability in South America for five months, when Peter is kidnapped by rebels. Thorne was flown in to negotiate, but decided to go it alone when you order your business away from the assignment. Great suspense thriller, with action and a strong grip actions Crowe, Ryan and Morse. Well worth seeing. |
| While probably recommend seeing the epic Gladiator (one of the best films of the year as I see them now) if you want a case of actor Russell Crowe as a perfectionist, if you want to see a Proof of Life movie with him in good shape (and now in the film) This is good too. With him in the head, plus another 2 very well, almost (almost) seems to be no defects. The plot follows an expert consultant for K & R (Crowe acting great shape), which goes to the aid of a wife (Meg Ryan in one of his best roles) that the husband (David Morse, which continues until its top and Dancer in the Dark performance) has been kidnapped. Then the emotional tension ensues, as they try to get back. With the few flaws that may not be enough tension and not the increased I expected, it definitely hits the mark on is the performance and delivery (and what a final). Incidentally, if you're looking for the famous Crowe Australian accent, then this is definitely for you. B + |
