Jarhead (the self-imposed moniker of the Marines) follows 'Swoff' (Gyllenhaal), a third-generation enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a sniper's rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always potentially just over the next horizon. Swoff and his fellow Marines sustain themselves with sardonic humanity and wicked comedy on blazing desert fields in a country they don't understand against an enemy they can't see for a cause they don't fully fathom... Foxx portrays Sergeant Sykes, a Marine lifer who heads up Swofford's scout/sniper platoon, while Sarsgaard is Swoff's friend and mentor, Troy, a die-hard member of STA-their elite Marine Unit.

In the first 15 minutes of the movie: Jarhead "Jarhead" (2005), I thought I was wrong in my DVD film: Jarhead by mistake. "Jarhead" (2005), while more technically and historically accurate, there were basically the same all the elements of "Stanley Kubrick Full Metal Jacket" (1987), only with different spins and an end. And although I have never read the book by Anthony Swofford, in my opinion, there seems to be a serious failure rather than "take out" all the characters in the film. Always tells us where they come from and why they have the attitudes they have, but we are always left to the darkness, where all end and why. A very good example of this is what happened to Swofford's Spotter and apparently close friend, "Troy" at the end of the film? Why "Troy," where did it end? I never said. A DivX Movie Jarhead could have been much better if all the items had been collected and cleaned.
