| I saw this DVD movie Last King of Scotland, The in a pre-free projection in Hollywood 9-19-06. This is the good, the bad and the ugly. THE GOOD: Forrest W. acted outside their back on this. Amazing. In fact, all actions of the actor is fantastic. The shots were beautiful places. There were a lot of suspense in the film, and sometimes I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next scene. I must admit the story was very good. There was absolutely wonderful and shot camera angles. THE BAD: sex and gratuitous violence. Say what you want about Alfred Hitchcock is another era in the movies, but their ideas about sex and violence implicit in most of his movies were good. The ugly: I liked the Last King of Scotland, The Thriller much more if he had said from the POV of Idi Amin, one of his wives or one of Uganda in his cabinet. CONCLUSION: Do I pay to see this movie? Yes END |
| A young medical graduate Nicholas Scotland went to Uganda in the hope that 1970 could offer their hands to help the people of Uganda. Instead of serving the poor and needed, he met the charismatic Ugandan dictator Idi Amin and his life changed forever. I knew nothing about Idi Amin before the movie, but I know a lot about it after the movie. He is charismatic but brutal. I can see myself to be your friend when it first and then realize that he can be the worst monster in my life and I want to escape away from him. Idi Amin is a very lively and fascinating in this film, through the tremendous performance of Forest Whitaker. I know it is only the beginning of the season Oscar, Forest Whitaker, but it definitely gives an Oscar worthy performance in this DVD film Last King of Scotland, The as Idi Amin. It is a fascinating Last King of Scotland, The film that keeps me on the edge of my seat every time. The performance is excellent, the photography is impressive, the story is attractive, the music is deeply moving, and the Last King of Scotland, The film is simply fantastic. And the Oscar is everything. Yes, I am giving you a little 10 of 10. |
