While I was watching this DivX Movie Madigan I quite bright constantly thinking of the great passages in writing that you can hear everything. Moreover, Siegel direction is never less grip and helps the story with flashes of genius. The act benefits from a perfect cast in which no one seems out of place. I enjoyed Richard Widmark and Henry Fonda, of course, but also James Whitmore that about 25 years later, Frank Darabont also highlighted in "The Shawshank Redemption." A thin Madigan Drama film as "Madigan" must have a powerful ending, and that is the case here. The last 10 minutes Siegel domain show at its best. The last shot comes unexpectedly and elegantly reaches point. Cop movies can be good or bad, but you should always be true. I recommend "Madigan" just for that.
This is a very "late'60s" detective fiction, and if you are in the mood, hit the ground. What I, and has not been picked up by other posters, it is very visible difference between most of the scenes shot in real locations in the city of New York, and some scenes from the Universal Backlot straight on urban streets with no nonsense culverts. The study shot scenes (and school-Lalo Shifrin score) to increase the impression that you are watching a TV Madigan Drama movie of the first class. Everything you do with a hunger for supper on a tray with aluminum. Definitely, entertainment, on an average.
Detective Daniel Madigan (the excellent Richard Widmark) is very efficient and experienced, but also devoid of ethics. His partner, Detective Rocco Bonar (Harry Guardino), and he will go to a hotel room for the simple arrest of small-time thief Barney Benesch (Steve Ihnat). Madigan is unwise and a lack of attention Benesch, he reacts, making weapons of detectives and leakage. Upon returning to the area, they receive the information Benesch is a murderer. Commissioner X. Anthony Russell (Henry Fonda), a rigid and moralistic man, gives a schedule of three days for detectives to arrest Benesch. Yesterday was the first time I have seen this excellent film: Madigan police drama. At present, this DivX Movie Madigan is politically incorrect: Madigan has no ethics, most of the characters relate to the fans, smoking is "in" The interrogation is rough, without human rights, and this is one of the major points of this movie, because it's very real. In addition, Don Siegel do not need cars, explosions and other special effects to engage the viewer's attention. The direction, script and performance of actors and actresses are more than sufficient to satisfy the viewer. The characters are well developed and the scenes are very realistic. Once again, an excellent police drama DivX film Madigan recommended for those who like police history. My vote is eight. Title (Brazil): "We wickedness' (` The ruthless ")
At the end of the sixties there has been a tendency to rough policemen who are against the system - which is - but in spite of winning over all odds ... Richard Widmark was one of them ... In "Madigan" is a solid, capable detective from New York, as Quinn in "Across 110th Street," people know about their review and knows how to handle ... Unlike the character Quinn, however, is honest to the nth degree ... Kill him, hitting and destroying the great traps villains, however, remains a curious affection for the little criminals that cross their path ... One feels that if Madigan took a bribe, it would be secret and saw the evidence presented in court to ruin some bad ...
A fine, hard realist DVD movie Madigan Don Siegel on the afternoon of 60 with Richard Widmark as excellent Madigan. Steve Ihnat (The Chase) is also a perfect twisted villain and aggressive power with the support of Harry Guardino. The lovely Inger Stevens is playing in one of his last roles before his untimely death. 7 out of 10. Best performance = Steve Ihnat (who died very young). Don Siegel made a lot of good films and this is the top of the list. One of the pro-police before the films Dirty Harry attacked open. Once again, Inger Stevens will break your heart, near the end of this and never looked more beautiful in his short career. Well worth the time to anyone.
Madigan is memorable for its final, climatic shooting. This is the closest to art films ever to reality unless someone really get close to real life and nasty shooting the film. Widmark and Guardino vs Steve Ihnat in about 4 seconds of absolute chaos, with tragic results. Incidentally, I saw this movie: Madigan in an Army hospital in 1969 while recovering from being wounded in Vietnam. Is projected onto a sheet hung in the center of a neighborhood. The picture clearly showed through, so (and half the audience) viewed from the back of the blade, all left and right have been reversed!
