A "What really happened" telling the story of St. George and the Dragon. Begins when the dutiful Princess Lunna (Piper Perabo merry), who agreed to marry a man who hates for the sake of the kingdom of his father, is kidnapped by a dragon. No one realizes that he was not kidnapped to be eaten, but to help dragon egg while she recovers from an injury! George (James Purefoy) returns from the Crusades and is committed to rescue the princess in exchange for land. Accompanying it is the self-absorbed Lunna betrothed (Patrick Swayze) and a little boy who grew up on stories of the noble knights and dragons Slayers. George thinks find Princess Lunna soft and despair, but is tired of playing princess soft and ready to defend his position, by any means necessary. This film: George and the Dragon is refreshing in its ability to laugh at himself and swashbuckling stories in general. Look for the "secret sources" of the fork, ride a skateboard, and the pattern of England. Do not watch if you can not stomach a single anachronism. |
This is a sweet little George and the Dragon film - too bad it's so horrible to have problems of distribution. I believe that many children enjoy it, and it is very watchable for adults too! Especially since James Purefoy is wonderful in it. After his performance in "Vanity Fair", a serious and wrenching drama, it's good to know that he is able to make a fun, light movie, too. Everyone is great and, apart from Patrick Swayze, who has just kind of walk through your paper. Even the simple, small type fairy tale dialogue sounded just terrible, the fall from his mouth as groups of half-chewed food. Of course, the CGI dragons are not quite as slick as you want it to be in 2005, but the picture is beautiful, and editing is quick and keeps the pace rolling along a good clip. I mention that James Purefoy is wonderful? And the outtakes at the end are great! |
First, I loved this DivX film George and the Dragon whatever is on the title! and second Did anyone notice that the plot and text, but in fact is the following legend is also very similar to a children's book that was written, even when the name of the princesses. I wonder if anyone other than those captured? it seems to have used the images from the illustration! it really does not matter was a great DVD film George and the Dragon I was wondering if anyone noticed more? I can not remember the author but the legend was based with wonderful works of art and a touch of tradition as the fairy well.so I want to know if you noticed that so I do not think I'm going crazy because LOL! ! enjoy the movie! |
Just-free-even George and the Dragon is better than its troubled history of post-production means, but despite being far more competent in the best thing you can say is that it is harmless. Aside from some performances and weak miscasting - take a bow Michael Clarke Duncan, Joan 'Pantomime Dame' Plowright and WTF-do-it-is-here Patrick Swayze seems medieval Texas trailer trash - the biggest problem is that there is too much George little dragon. James Purefoy is quite nice Pierce Brosnan in a TV-movie kind of way, but there is a notable lack of killing dragons (which happens most of the time protecting eggs from a dragon egg) and too many ideas borrowed from other films, no less than Val Kilmer unbilled cameo as the dread pirate Roberts - sorry, The Cabillo - another of his collection of sporting bad Irish accents. The climax is a horse defecate continuously through a love scene in the final credits left. |
I had been reading about this DVD movie George and the Dragon for a while and thought that the idea of a humorous story of the legend of George and the dragon had potential. However, the George and the Dragon film was never widely published. So I was watching the Sci Fi channel on a boring Saturday and suddenly appeared this George and the Dragon Fantasy (under the generic name of "Dragon Sword"). I quickly realized this was the "George and the Dragon" movie, which had been wanting to see. However, I did not have high expectations. But ultimately, it is not so bad. It has some major problems. The plot becomes a bit incoherent at times. The editing is not good. The special effects are not good (and I'm not very demanding about such things). However, the players lifted slightly above mediocrity. James Purefoy is fun to see how the horse tired of war, which only wants "an acre and two head of cows and is in a strange trip. Piper Perabo is cute as the brave princess (but never adequately explained why he is so obsessed with dragons). Their relationship follows the usual path of such films: antagonism followed by mutual attraction. The players are very good too. Keep your expectations low and you'll enjoy the movie. It could have been much better but it's pretty high quality for the Sci Fi Channel. |
There was a lot to complain about in this DivX Movie George and the Dragon - the editing was difficult, poorly shot fight scenes (which were well choreographed, but badly filmed), and the special effects are mediocre. However, I see this DVD film George and the Dragon again, simply because the characters are so funny, and the movie: George and the Dragon made the point not to take itself seriously. I saw this George and the Dragon movie on Sci-Fi channel, and did not realize it was anything other than a made for television movie, and the thinking of many elements that were better than average. James Purefoy and Piper Perabo were wonderful - and had a good chemistry. Piper is absolutely delicious as a brave, confident women. Certainly not "period" at all, but then the reality is never good princesses. James Purefoy is equally nice - it seems very natural, either on horseback, wielding a sword, or do a classic double take. It makes every scene with his great charm. Michael Clarke Duncan, despite having a small role, was welcome and would have liked to have seen his character more fully developed. Patrick Swayze was very, very weak - do not seem interested in what he was doing, unless it was a fight scene. English accent had not killed either. But I had fun with the DivX film George and the Dragon - I laughed out loud more than once, and I really enjoy the jokes. I thought we kept the language in cheek only quality at the right level. |
