Moody, slow, absorbing, who lost in this "lost love" and in many ways tragic history. This DVD movie Paris, Texas is probably a warning to us all of how life can easily overwhelm us without knowing it. It is also virtually unique in the success of the image of a man who was very lost in the thoughts inside that the outside world becomes almost minutiae. Mr. Stanton sums up this mood and this is probably his best performance ever. The most poignant scene (and there are many) may be discussed when some old film: Paris, Texas of his life (normal happy love story that probably could not have gone wrong so badly) before he went away from everything. I can not help but think this is an epistle from real life that could be an indicator of how life has overtaken the human race in the last 20 years.
