In the 60?s, the Puerto Rican Carlito Brigante, the Afro-American Earl and the Italian Rocco become best friends while in prison. When they are released, Rocco intermediates a heroin business with a family of the Italian Mafia leaded by Artie Bottolota Sr. Carlito negotiates with the lord Leroy 'Hollywood Nicky' Barnes the area where the trio could operate in his neighborhood and sooner the three friends become powerful. Later, Carlito dates and has an affair with the beautiful Leticia. When Earl decides to move to Barbados with his girlfriend and leave the heroin business, his stupid younger brother causes a situation with the Italian mobsters, and Carlito and Rocco have to resolve the mess to save their lives.

I must say this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. They had a very good argument to go, but that is so badly wrong. First, the casting is all wrong, where did that go Peebles (actor crap BTW) and come from Puff Daddy? Carlito seems to have come from the hood, and used to hang around with some real idiots. This film: Carlito's Way: Rise to Power does not "Carlitos Way" any justice. Im very happy that the sequel to "Carlito's Way" was released first, if I had seen this garbage in the first place, I would have never given an opportunity to Pacino. And anyway, Pacino is supposed to have read this story, I thought that the trash and not the sequel instead. Carlito's Way: rise to power - 1 in 10. Carlito's Way - 9 out of 10.

If you hit your head with a shovel, the screenplay with his feet, you can get closer to the intelligence of this movie. Nothing in this DVD movie Carlito's Way: Rise to Power has not been done a thousand times in other gangster films and done much better. Those who think that "Scarface" is a kind of hero to be examined or even seen "Goodfellas," "Threat II Society" and "Dead Presidents" and thought MMM "That is the life for me!" As this film. I thought the DivX film Carlito's Way: Rise to Power a chance, because the premise was perfect for a prequel. Should have known better after seeing Mario Van Peebles and Sean Combs have participated. Nobody above a 4th level of education, see the original Pacino, a real actor, and be satisfied.

I really loved this DivX film Carlito's Way: Rise to Power is much better and the last. I really liked the way he had in Chuck Zito, he was the last one as well, but not really that with this sample that showed him a lot. I like how they play a better way than the first and hottest form Carlito was the last man. I do not like the way that Sean Combs put in it because I have no talent and not to mention not even remember any blacks in the first so it does not make sense to put in it. I would not say whether the DivX film Carlito's Way: Rise to Power was Sean Combs in which I would give it a 10 instead of 8.
