An interesting period DivX Movie Secret Passage set against the Catholic Inquisition against the Jews in the late 15th century. SPOILERS NEXT That aspect, however, relatively little to do with the film. Is more to do with the wiles of a scheming woman (Isabel - Katherine Borowitz) to steal what was then the top secret technology - how it was Venetian glass - and bring it to the outside world, no doubt for a huge benefit. What begins as a tale of courage and survival in the face of adversity - Isabel gets the office of his sister Clara (Tara Fitzgerald), while the two are still girls - one ends in tragedy, with the implementation of Isabel drowning. The real tragedy is that she is caught for attempted theft, but was grabbed _how_. Clara betrayed by a moment of blind rage, range induced Isabel itself because of the measures that had been used to manipulate his sister in compliance with its plan. Better to leave some surprises - see the Secret Passage film data. It is interesting to see Anton Rodgers, best known to me for his role in the British comedy series Fresh Fields in the role of villain. I find it astonishing the amount of IMDb's rating has improved over his average - with most other films, its opposite, a decrease. Something to do with the small number of votes? I gave him a 6 / 10. |
I loved this movie. Among the highlights: the photograph and the scenes of Renaissance Venice, the delicate image of the Jews in hiding trying to maintain their faith, the excellent performance of Isabel (Katherine Borowitz), the quiet beauty and expressiveness of the young Victoria (what a wonderful young actress Hannah Taylor Gordon), and the intrigues of the plot that keeps one glued to the screen, waiting to see what happens next. My only criticism is that there is some lack of clarity on what was happening in the plot reached its climax - on both the glass and the sister of emotional reactions to the other near the end. But the lack of clarity also has a reflection on the film. Overall, a disturbing Secret Passage that I highly recommend. |
I recently saw this movie: Secret Passage on television in Greece. (December 06) As he had never heard of it before it was a real surprise. Great costumes, scenery and colors. The story keeps moving along and you had to pay attention. I felt at the end I wanted more. What happened next? Is there a sequel? Is it a series? The scenes in Venice were astonishing in their recreation of the era. Most of these players I have ever heard and I understand that this is a mostly European cast. The credits ran so fast (in my TV) that he could not catch what the nationality is co. Czecoslovakian? The historical aspects are very interesting and there are echoes of Shakespeare "The Merchant of Venice" in the way of implementing Venictian its trade laws and the laws of contract. Very interesting. And yes beautifully filmed. |
I know from the works of the previous director Bosnian Kenovic (Kuduz and The Perfect Circle), I had high expectations for "secret passage." Well, I can say that he was not disappointed, on the contrary, this Secret Passage film is really well done, from the manuscript, cinematography to acting. I was stunned by Katherine Borowitz who plays Isabel, but also by Hannah Taylor-Gordon, who plays Victoria. These two actresses have a great expression that adds extra value to this very good movie. I'm glad John Turturro found their way into the film, because I think it is a great player with great potential, which could and should be used in projects which are not their usual roles. But despite the good work done, I think it was somewhat out of place in the film, but I'm not sure ... maybe because I'm used to seeing him in more contemporary films. I loved the story. It shows how Jews were treated in Christian Europe, where witch hunts and the Inquisition were almost the national sports. Kenovic has a great eye for detail and aesthetics. The scenes are well established, and have enjoyed every moment on the outskirts of Venice. I can highly recommend this movie: Secret Passage to anyone interested in history and beautifully shot movies. I do not mind if they Ademir Kenovic directs movies more often (mostly producers), because it is very talented director. 8 out of 10. |
