In the Antarctic, after an expedition with Dr. Davis McClaren (Bruce Greenwood), the sled dog trainer Jerry Shepherd (Paul Walker) has to leave the polar base with his colleagues due to the proximity of a heavy snow storm. He ties his dogs to be rescued after, but the mission is called-off and the dogs are left alone at their own fortune. For six months, Jerry tries to find a sponsor for a rescue mission while his dogs fight for survival.

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Only took today, and my three daughters. The two girls were embarrassed by the time my ex and I cried! Did not realize he had been in the theater for two hours. Moved quickly to us. Be prepared to use a box of Kleenex. Our vision was in a room full of most of the children cheered, wept, applauded and thoroughly enjoyed the movie: Eight Below from start to finish. A definite must buy and fantastic family film. I want to see again tomorrow if I could. Can not wait until it comes out on DVD / tape. Enough reality and romance to be very credible. The way that dogs stuck and worked as a team. And seeing the adoption of the guard "Maya Max was so touching.
