I confess that "King Ralph" is one of my favorite movies. Yes, the basic concept of the plot of the King Ralph movie has been done in many stories, both written and filmed, but the superb acting together with the not-so-subtle push British Royalty together in the fabric right over the top. Never mind that John Goodman is brilliant (as usual), but the good and not very serious role of Peter O'Toole added a much-needed anchor for Mr. Goodman, the long-awaited antics. Filming locations of the DVD film King Ralph as well as provide a beautiful backdrop for the production, heavily steeped in tradition and British heritage. Two thumbs up for this lively comedy that dares to delve into some of the most serious problems of accountability and real pressure. Highly recommended for fun entertainment, I "King Ralph" a 9 out of 10. |
When the entire British royal family was wiped out in a "terrible" accident, the American Bar animator Ralph Jones (excellent: John Goodman, which is the most boring parts of the plot) becomes the new King of England. After some adjustment problems with their new work (clothes, manners etc.) falls for a young man who knows a local strip club. Problems arise when it comes to his secretary with him to marry the princess to seal a Finnish business for a few Spanish firms. Overall, a good film: King Ralph with some great lines, but also some boring parts. |
This seems to have a widescreen King Ralph Comedy movie reviewers here, but it really is a good comedy. The story is just stupid and a repetition of old fish out of water the formula, but the British were able to add wonderful flavor to the film: King Ralph and the comedy is kept under control and not become too outlandishly stupid. Thumbs up, in my opinion, but it is a little dated these days. Excellent supporting cast and a friendly film: crude and remember nothing, no bad words. Goes to show that even if you can really apply their minds to it! |
There is a picture and then say soon enough, because the cheese they are looking for the next heir to the British throne. They look and look, but all are fat is a Las Vegas lounge singer named Ralph. That almost never happen in real life but very funny. Ralph Burps and drink beer and do not fit into the British royalty. Many people probably wish that this would happen to them. It is curious because of all people, Ralph is the only one. It is fat and overlooked, but it does not change, especially when swinging at the piano and talk about the woman with deep voice. Yikes! There are plenty of good laughs, but it is not perfect. It's good to see if you're just flipping through the channels one night and nothing else is on. |
John Goodman stars as the title of king in this comedy real. Ralph is a lounge singer in Las Vegas in bad need of some Moolah when a group of councilors British approach him one night and carry the news that Ralph is the new king of England after all the royal family has been eliminated in a monster accident! Reluctantly, Ralph takes the job. At first, it seems like a fish out of water, the fact that he is a First, he is also a total bum! You may be king not so good after all. This movie: King Ralph is funny because Goodman does a good job being a vagabundo adorable in its power to try to be the figurehead of the Royal Britain. Peter O'Toole is also good as Willingham, the aristocrat whose job is to care for newborn appoi |
It is not stupid, is charming. A bit old-fashioned and corny, yes, but entertaining and fun and worth it! I just saw this for the second time in cable television and liked it so much like the first time! Goodman made bold and exquisite as the good-hearted buffoon that exceeds the weight and snobbishness of a group of bluebloods too good to their own bodily functions. |
