| This is one of the few times that Steve Martin tried to play a character instead of playing for himself. This formula tends to work for him. While the movie: My Blue Heaven seems rather convoluted at some points, Martin is the character so well drawn and pleasant, they tend to forget the weakness of the plot and predictability. But hey, there is considerable movement and comedy to keep this story, in that this My Blue Heaven Comedy is all that really needs to stay afloat. Rick Moranis thought it was very good, and the end was so perfectly cheesy, could not have fit better this movie. |
| In my opinion, Steve Martin lowest-rated movie, which plays an Italian gangster in a witness protection program as he waits to go to court. Martin was born to play this part, and cocky swagger of his character was laughing every time I showed up! Rick Moranis also stars, and is his usual nerdy self, which is quite fun! |
| Steve Martin is a mobster turned informant in the U.S. Witness Protection Program, but the dishonest habits are hard to break in this clever little comedy. Director Herbert Ross uses a smart screenplay, talented performers and a great premise for "My Blue Heaven" a lot better than most films of its genre. Rick Moranis is the FBI agent who tries to protect Martin hitmen for the mob and more dangerous to itself. Joan Cusack is priceless as a local district attorney who wants Martin for every little offense committed while awaiting his court date to testify. William Hickey is also good as a shadow of Martin friends. A bit of good cinema in general. 3.5 of 5 stars. |
| I just watched the blue sky and thought it was a sweet comedy with two of my favorite actors: Steve Martin and Rick Moranis. They make a great duo and one can say that really enjoy the presence of each other. This is the only DVD movie My Blue Heaven by Steve Martin did not have my mom, so I had to rent it. But I was excited to see Steve Martin as a hard Italin mafia, so he could not resist the rent. My Blue Heaven is about a man, Vinny, aka, Todd, is about to go to trial in the rat some members of the mafia, but must be protected from thugs, so that's where character comes in. Rick Vinny should take care of him and make sure you are not arrested or injured, but it will be difficult as Vinny keeps getting into trouble with the DA played by Joan Cussack. Vinny also thinks it's a good idea that she and Rick get together and they do. But Joan is going to try to get better Vinny broken. It is predictable, but it is a very lovely My Blue Heaven Comedy that I think any fan can appreciate Steve Martin. The cast was excellent and the story was very funny, I thought it was so cool that is slightly on the basis of Henry Hill (which will probably remember from Goodfellas) life. Rick and Steve are so great and I think you'll enjoy this film. 6 / 10 |
| In reviewing the DVD movie My Blue Heaven "LA Story," which I mentioned that the My Blue Heaven film had little peculiarities that have only one. This movie: My Blue Heaven definitely has its own peculiarities. Steve Martin is known for playing dopey roles, something he has played well and showed in "The Jerk", which was a classic in its own right. "My Blue Heaven" is a classic deinfinitely at best. Steve Martin plays Vinnie Antonelli, a family referred to in the witness relocation program, and must live with a new name in San Diego until his trial. When Vinnie for the first time we see a man in a shiny suit, sunglasses, and the upper flat and you just have to laugh at the appearance. Then, states in its very funny (and false) New York accent, and we have to laugh at the reunion. Plays a "stereotypes" in New York and Italian, and we are impressed. I found this My Blue Heaven Comedy to be particularly humorous. Many people (in Italian, not Italian) Fongol know what it is, and probably any Italian who has a dog (but not me) have said it at least once a dog. As an Italian, I think the concept of non-Italian in the role of gold, and we can laugh at ourselves and see how we humor. The scene that made me hysterical was when his family received him at the airport and talked with his Italian mother. If you like the Mafia movies, or Steve Martin, definitely see this comedy much overlooked. With Martin and Rick Moranis, Joan Cusack, and a great supporting cast, who really love this movie! | FBI agent Barney Coopersmith (Rick Moranis) is assigned to protect former Mafia figure Vinnie Antonelli (Steve Martin) in the witness protection program, far from his neighborhood in the city of New York. Vinnie has to adjust to their new neighborhood in the "burbs" and its new name "Todd." But the 'burbs "will have to get used to Vinnie. No matter how it comes Vinnie can not keep a low profile. Coopersmith certainly has his hands full keeping Antonelli away from the Mafia hitmen who want to stop his testimony, and the local DA Hannah Stubbs played by Joan Cusack, not to mention the clubs ... But who would have thought Vinnie Cupido could play through all this. This hysterically funny script written by Nora Ephron and played for every laugh by Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Joan Cusack, Melanie Mayron, Carol Kane and will put a smile on his face. This My Blue Heaven Comedy movie is a great therapy laugh every time. Add this DivX Movie My Blue Heaven to your library. |
| My Blue Heaven is exactly the kind of My Blue Heaven Comedy movie you want to see after a long day of work when you're looking for something relaxing to spend the night. The film: My Blue Heaven is quite simple and predictable, some of the jokes are not funny, but it has its good points. Steve Martin is a great Italian Mafia, which plays very well. Some gags are very cool and fun, and the dialogue is often interesting. In conclusion, a nice watch. Vote: 6 out of 10. |
