| This American remake of the 2002 German DVD movie No Reservations MOSTLY MARTA barely captures the delicacy of the German workforce. While Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role of master chef Kate operating on the edge with a great deal of sensitivity, the American version fails to capture the attraction of opposites in the original German MOSTLY MARTA. An important element of the conflict of opposites in the original MOSTLY MARTA was the cultural conflict between the Italian and German sous chef de cuisine. The American No Reservations Romance avoid cultural clash. Comments from the German original can not be worked on the copy of America: Mario: Why did she (his niece) wants to stay with his family in sunny Italy where you can return to the cold and gray Germany to live with you as a nut case? Although booking is not a well-made film, which represents an alarming rolling in the U.S. good No Reservations film theater loans from other places and try to translate American history in one place. | Puzzle that the film: No Reservations appears on television focused on the DivX film No Reservations as a strong, black comedy. I was disappointed. The girl had the pain of women in the row behind me crying, so that their children were asking what was wrong. Part of the No Reservations Romance movie was for me a Downer. I was not expecting it. Spoiler below: When a manager has in his underling as his mistress, she is courting disaster, personally and professionally. I could not believe that the chef would run the risk that, from the kitchen that it was "his life." There was a plodding "made for TV movie" aura when Catherine Zeta Jones is her niece on the first day of their new school. We see them get there, walk down the aisle, the new teacher reunion. I was right! |
| Kate (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is a great chef who commands the kitchen at an elegant restaurant Big Apple. However, she is totally obsessed with his work and save much time for anything else. As occasionally Kate irate customers to make small complaints about the food, his boss (Patricia Clarkson) sends a counselor for therapy. But even that does little to achieve a good balance in their lives. Things change drastically, however, when Kate's sister dies in a car accident, leaving his young daughter, Zoe (Abigail Breslin), in the care of his brother. Having to take a week off from work, Kate is chagrined to find that, upon return, the boss has hired an Italian lady named sous chef Nick (Aaron Eckhart) to help keep pace. However, these two substantial changes to Kate's life has proven to be very important. Will there be a happy ending for our heroine? This remake of the fine Mostly Martha is a great choice for new fans of the romantic comedy / drama. Much of the credit should be extended to the pleasant cast as the great Zeta-Jones, Eckhart very handsome and a talented trio Breslin fantastic. Clarkson is also pretty good in a supporting role. The establishment of the New York City has never been lovelier, while the costumes and production values are great too. Regarding the script, is not shine as bright as the original German, but has a lot of enthusiasm and heart. They have no reservations about marking the calendar to see this movie. It is a feast of fun and feel good now. |
| I am an old fan of the original of this No Reservations Romance (Bella Martha / Mostly Martha), and everything that makes a great DVD movie No Reservations and nice to see that lack of it. I miss the slow accumulation of characters and their style in small gestures, the predominance of light and moves on moods and dialogue. I do not think that history itself is enough. Martha / Kate is more isolated, and Mario / Nick is not a clown. In most cases the things that makes a big scene in the original, his work is not in your copy here. Minor alterations to remove tension. My opinion is you should go see the original. The easiest way is worth the inconvenience of the subtitles. |
