It is always with great concern that I view a DVD movie Memoirs of a Geisha derived from a beloved book. All my friends said: "Do not bother! You can not make history, perhaps, justice." But I could not resist. I loved both the book and have been waiting with bait breath for the Memoirs of a Geisha movie version. I have to say ... I was not disappointed. The DVD movie Memoirs of a Geisha remains in close collaboration with the book and does not embellish or "Hollywood" in history. This Memoirs of a Geisha Drama film really made the story come alive. If one has not read the book, there are parts of history that can be difficult to follow. But if you loved the story as much as I did, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. It makes me want to read it, but with the score playing in the background. What a beautiful movie!

Although the book was not strictly accurate to the real situation is even carried out a sense of Japan. In Japan for 20 years, the nine years Chyi (Suzuka Ohgo) and her sister Satsu (Samantha Futerman) are sold by her fisherman father to a geisha house in Miyako. The first half of "Memoirs of a Geisha" is a beautiful drama, which tells the story of the girl Chyi country and adapting to a new lifestyle in a geisha house. Then, at the end of World War II, the script becomes a soap-opera and the story becomes less and less attractive. However, photography, art direction and costume design are impressive throughout the film. But the cast spoke in English and Japanese, keeping a few words seems rather ridiculous to me.
