| Well, I can say is my first independent Quiet City Drama in English. The start was great, I was curious as to continue watching the real-life characters were real incidents with real pace as in real life. The camera used was great, and some scenes were good. But lost somewhere in the Quiet City film itself, the story is not where to go, and made a little long, but the film: Quiet City was weird about 70 minutes, it seems much more than that. Would be honest to the expected end of a long time. The ultimate end is unrealistic, but not pleasant. U If you have plenty of time to be wasted then u can probably see this movie. i would give 5 of 10 for this movie: Quiet City for good camera work and interesting start. |
| Katz, the third feature is a rather sweet offering about a boy and a girl who accidentally find and form a close friendship over the space of a weekend. It is better to do without too many expectations - raw Quiet City Drama and the absence of some plots are disappointed movie: Quiet City assistants, however, both the characters and performances are convincing and endearing, and humor is unique in all properly. Yes, the Quiet City Drama is a bit self-indulgent, some scenes that have benefited from a cut down, but the story is the flow unimpeded by the slower pace. Katz, but not arise from "Quiet City," as a director with an agenda, after his tedious comment violation of adolescents' Dance Party USA "Is perhaps the best that he sticks to the point the film, social commentary and leaves well alone. |
| First I must point out that this is not the first Quiet City Drama film I've seen. I have nothing against independent Quiet City movie in general. On the contrary I have seen many independent films that I recommend. Unfortunately this was not one of them. I guess I can appreciate the artistic quality of the film. This is a real "day-in-the-life-of-the-half-person" how history will find him. The dialog seems almost unscripted. The talks in the Quiet City Drama are the light and meaning to the point of being somewhat awkward, that is exactly what one would expect from the typical interaction between the American teenagers today. I suppose it is possible that I am missing the boat, but at the end of the film: Quiet City to see how I failed to not only waste 78 minutes of my life as I have seen large-bore two fictional characters waste 78 minutes of his. Maybe I am alone here, but when I feel I do a Quiet City Drama in the hope that is inspired or entertaining. At least I hope to stimulate my mind in some way. | I must admit I know nothing about independent films ( 'mumblecore', huh?), But I stumbled on it after seeing more commercial success of indie films like Donnie Darko, Memento and Interview. "Quiet City", a title is just beautiful, pleasantly surprised me. As another reviewer mentioned, the writers / directors focused on the dialog, which is a refreshing experience for the successful frequently. I have seen some other films, where small items taken too heavy on the search for truth and meaning of life or why we die, etc, to me, sent through the Quiet City movie pretentious, because in my humble opinion is pretty arrogant if you think you have a quick, easy answer for the life of the most difficult questions. It's not bad to have a vision of their own, but if not Stanley Kubrick (see: 2001) probably should not touch the subject (especially as a young filmmaker). "Quiet City" does not make this mistake, the dialog seems realistic and honest and acting was very natural. No big climax or plot twists, but a little taste of the good simple life in New York. Nice, but only for people who love movies. |
| Like Hannah Takes the ladder, Aaron Katz, the quiet city focuses more on dialogue than on plot. I mean, here's the plot in a nutshell. Girl flies to a strange city to meet her friend. Boy meets girl weird and strange guy asks directions dining to carry out his scaly friend who is always late and sometimes never shows up (I mean, we see that this is going, huh?). Strange boy girl accompanies the dinner, at dinner, after dinner, and several days later. There are some other people involved, an art show and after party, and about six degrees of action to make the plot a little more interesting, but that's all. But it is a good movie. That's really all there is to it. This is another DivX Movie Quiet City from another "ultra-indy" filmmaker, focusing on twentysomethings and how to communicate. The scene seems cutely coined mumblecore amalgamate a group of filmmakers (coincidentally, they all look like each other and / or work together), which all seem to be focusing on the ultra-indy tactics such as free distribution, and marketing digital microbudgets their own films. It is interesting how the issue of six degrees in the movie, the city appeared quiet ring true for this whole thing mumblecore. All these guys started out individually, but we have seen quite a partnership this year. I am eager to see what's next for "mumblecorps? |
